Clare Buchta
Clare has been painting and drawing for most of her life. Being very much an outdoor person she has been inspired by the natural world, land and seascapes.
Clare has developed a unique and distinctive style over the years, which aims to go to the essence of the structure and mood of the scene using oil paint or printmaking techniques, especially monotypes. Observation of reflections on water, be it sea, river or lake, the rise and fall of the landscape, the changing colours of the sky, trees and flora of the
countryside, all have provided subjects for Clare’s paintings.
Clare works from her home studio and gathers ideas by sketching on location using ink and watercolour, these are then developed into paintings in oils on card, wood, copper or aluminium panels.
